Oki Electric recycles waste cooking oil as truck fuel

TOKYO — Oki Electric Industry Co said Tuesday it has been recycling waste cooking oil from a cafeteria at its office in Tokyo’s Hachioji as biodiesel fuel for trucks for its logistics operations since April.

Project Transportation Co, a partner of Oki Logistics Co, has signed an agreement with G.O. Food Service Co, an operator of cafeterias for Oki employees, to buy waste oil from the cafeteria and refine it into biodiesel fuel for trucks, Oki said.
