"Tokyo (JCN) - Mitsubishi Electric Building Techno-Service announced on September 6 that it has developed a system to detect unusual situations in the elevator in real time, thus preventing crimes from being committed in the elevator.
The system analyzes changes in optical images captured by the security camera located in the elevator to detect unusual situations. It can detect unusual situations such as rampages and assaults, and evaluates the situations at three levels: extremely unusual, slightly unusual, and caution needed.
When it detects an unusual situation, the system automatically opens the elevator door and alerts warning."
